崧Sōng
Nestled in a secluded mountain valley, ancient pine groves stand in silent vigil. The wind threads its way through the needles, leaving behind whispers of time and the poetry of nature. It is here, amid earth and timber, that Sōng was born. The character "崧 (Sōng)" evokes both rugged peaks and graceful pines, symbolizing resilience and embrace. We translate this imagery into ceramic form, carrying the warmth of forest and field into everyday ritual through clay and flame. Each "Sōng" piece begins with pure white earthenware clay, hand–thrown on the wheel until as thin as an eggshell yet impossibly strong. Before glazing, artisans draw motifs freehand with their own custom slip—“painting with mud lines”—and then dust the surface with fine mineral powder for delicate relief. Glazes are blended in–house rather than bought, ensuring every kiln firing yields colors that swirl like morning mist or moss–clad stone, never to be replicated. This is more than technique; it is a devotion to “slow and true.” Every vessel holds a fragment of mountain memory—dawn’s first light, dusk’s lingering glow—quietly grounding your moments with its subtle warmth. At "Sōng", we believe a vessel should do more than contain—it should carry the touch of the earth, the pulse of the forest, and the heart of its maker into your hands.
